I have the distinction of being the sole CBT Therapist actively practicing in New Brunswick. My expertise is in providing services to adults and seniors; I do not provide services for children or adolescents.

Experience and Expertise

As a Certified Cognitive Behavior Therapist located in Fredericton, NB. I am the only practicing certified CBT Therapist in the province of New Brunswick. With a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto (2001), I have 20+ years of experience in community mental health settings.

My therapeutic approach is informed by my belief that we are all humans riding on the struggle bus. Whether you’re the driver or a passenger, have a window seat or are sitting on the tire hub, to struggle is to be human. But the struggle can be lessened.

Brief CBT

Increase your competency in Brief Cognitive Behavior Therapy, a time-limited evidence-based intervention. In Brief CBT the concentration is on specific treatments for a limited number of the client’s difficulties. This 2-day interactive training will cover the basics of CBT. Increase your competency in CBT and learn evidence-based strategies. If you are new to CBT, or would like to build on your existing knowledge, this training is for you. You will receive relevant handouts you can use in your practice with clients. This training is geared to working with adults.

CBT for Self-Compassion

Have you tried encouraging clients to speak to themselves as they would a friend? Have you noticed how difficult this is for clients, and wondered how you can better support them in learning self-compassion?

Clients often hold negative beliefs about being kind to themselves, and positive beliefs about self criticism. These beliefs need to be targeted in order for clients to “buy into” self-compassion.

In this 1-day interactive training, enhance your competency in using self-compassion as an evidence-based therapeutic approach to better serve your clients. Also, learn why practicing self-compassion as a helper is beneficial. You will receive relevant handouts you can use in your practice with clients.
