I use these therapeutic approaches:
My therapeutic approach is informed by my belief that we are all humans riding on the struggle bus. Whether you’re the driver or a passenger, have a window seat or are sitting on the tire hub, to struggle is to be human. But the struggle can be lessened.
I hold certifications from The Beck Institute, The Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies, and The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, and I am based in Fredericton, NB. I have the distinction of being the sole CBT Therapist actively practicing in New Brunswick. My expertise is in providing services to adults and seniors; I do not provide services for children or adolescents.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) helps you understand the struggle in your life. Your personal history and perception greatly influence the ride you are on. Let me help you take a step-back from life’s difficulties and develop a plan for moving forward.
Experience has shown me that people want to be supported and validated while learning skills that work in the long-term. The CBT Certification I’ve earned allows me to provide this to you.
Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, borderline personality disorder or other mental health challenges, we can explore these areas together in our individual therapy. I will help you understand how your thoughts and behaviors affect how you feel. Self-compassion and mindfulness will be infused in to this cognitive behavioral approach.
If you appreciate an authentic helper with a drive for providing evidence-based therapy, call or email me to set up an appointment.
My bus has a pride flag on it.
Think of CBT, self-compassion, and mindfulness as interconnected threads in the tapestry of mental well-being. So, when we weave these three elements together we create a powerful tapestry of self-discovery and healing. It’s about increasing our self-awareness, noticing patterns, and embracing ourselves with kindness and understanding, all while staying rooted in the present moment.
